Arpeggione
The principle of this unique instrument is simple. It's a guitar/violin/cello.
The 1st fret has a standard guitar radius - 12", but down to the end of a fingerboard it gradually gets rounder. The end of fingerboard has a 2.75" radius. The bridge with six piezo saddles resembles a cello bridge. Using a pick you can play on Arpeggione, like on a regular guitar, and right away, you can take a bow and play even single notes, because the bow will touch just one string at a time. Another pickup (custom wound humbucker) located under the end of fingerboard in the special cavity, routed underneath of fingerboard. Using a pan pot you can get variety of sounds - from the clean real sound of acoustic cello or violin to the sound of an electric guitar. The fretless part of a fingerboard can be used for true violin effects. Arpeggione DeLuxe model equipped with MIDI system. |
